See I have even seen that her FB profile has accepted new friends. But her twin sister went through a LOT to find one old story and repost, plus the eulogies that were posted, the tributes. If she was killed and her account was hacked or someone else that knew her is using it or something then whatever but if she did fake it and the elaborate story well that is just sad.
I posted here ad on a few other groups whe the author passed.

It seems like an extreme way to me too. Just say, I'm sorry but I have no ending for this piece. And if somebody comes along to ask permission to finish it---all the better. But to---hey, you can't say you died? Somebody else is drawn into the conspiracy if they say it. That is just so----uuugh---can't think of the word.
Most of the people I know of who haven't finished pieces just drift off the web. You cannot find them anymore---either they left the site they posted on or the list. Nothing you can do except to stop reading WIP or know the person as personally as you can on the web---or somebody who knows them---and can state we will finish it. Prolific Peggy.

I heard about that too -- that seems really extreme to me. Seems to me that it would be easier to just put something on your profile that you have lost interest in writing and then disable PMs.
