Film Company Bites Back in Eclipse Recasting Dust-Up

"We at Summit Entertainment are disappointed by Rachelle Lefevre's recent comments which attempt to make her career choices the fault of the studio," a press statement reads. "Her decision to discuss her version of the scheduling challenges publicly has forced the studio to set the record straight and correct the facts."
According to Summit, Lefevre was well aware of the shooting schedule for Eclipse when she decided to sign on with another movie that had a conflicting schedule and was being filmed thousands of miles away. Making things worse, Lefevre didn't tell Summit about the other film until nearly two months after agreeing to do it, the movie company says.

"Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability. Her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production," Summit says.
