Movie studios do this all the time. They have their stars give the appearance of "falling in love" in order to sell tickets to the teeny-boppers. It's usually all hype, and only lasts long enough to promote the movie.
Teresa >Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. It's a wonder they don't do the same between Taylor and Kristen in regards to New Moon---but then, if it's true, Taylor already has a girlfriend---Serena Gomez from Wizards of Waverly Place. And if it's true---don't they make such a cute couple. : ) I wonder if sometimes this lying to the teens might blow up in their faces. Or to anybody for that matter. It's a way to sell tickets (which IMHO, I don't think the series needs at all) and drum up interest in the books (again, not needed). But then, saying they're just friends doesn't sell magazines. When did a boy and girl just being friends become so boring to the media? So, since movie one, Rob had a crush on Kristen; movie two---they're dating---does that mean movie three they're engaged and movie four, they break it off? You do know that everytime I look at a magazine at the check out counter, I just have to roll my eyes and shake my head. :: sigh :: Prolific Peggy.
