'Twilight': The Rachelle Lefevre-Summit dispute -- Whose side are you on?

Rachelle-Lefevre-summit_lThings are heating up in the wake of the announcement that the actress Bryce Dallas Howard will replace Rachelle Lefevre (pictured) as the villainous vampire Victoria in the third Twilight film Eclipse. Now that Lefrevre and Summit Entertainment have each told their side of the story, whose side are you on?
After the jump, we'll recap the situation.
Do you agree with Summit's decision to recast the role of Victoria?

After the news about the recast broke on Tuesday, Lefevre released a statement yesterday saying a schedule conflict was at the heart of the situation. According to her "stunned" account, her conflicting commitment to the independent film Barney's Version is only 10 days. "Although the production schedule for Eclipse is over three months long, Summit said they had a conflict during those 10 days and would not accommodate me. Given the length of filming for Eclipse, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap."
Summit fired back last night with a statement of its own, saying that it had advised Lefevre in April of Ecl ipse's August start date but was not informed of her commitment to Barney's Version until July 20, even though she'd accepted the role in early June. "Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," says the statement. "We feel that her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production…. Contrary to Ms. Lefevre's statement, it is simply untrue that the Studio dismissed her over a ten day overlap. It is not about a ten day overlap, but instead about the fact that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is an ensemble production that has to accommodate the schedules of numerous actors while respecting the established creative vision of the filmmaker and most importantly the story."
More than 4,000 readers responded to a PopWatch poll Wednesday asking which actors in the Twilight franchise are replaceable. Forty percent said no one; 13 percent said anyone.
So what do you think of this series of events, Twihards? Take the poll above and then sound off in the comments.
